Hi, I'm Edu Romo.

Senior Software Engineer — TypeScript, Node.js, React, AWS Serverless. I build critical, production-grade systems for fintech and payroll infrastructure.

10+ years of product engineering experience. Most recently, I spent 4 years deep in global payroll infrastructure at Safeguard Global / Deel — designing ETL pipelines, building internal and client-facing platforms, and owning critical payroll systems for thousands of enterprise clients.

I work with high ownership and autonomy end-to-end, lead through architecture and engineering decisions as an IC, and care about the whole system: maintainability, reliability, and observability. I've worked remote, in distributed international teams, for years — it's where I do my best work. Lately I've been focused on AI engineering: harness engineering, agent workflows, RAG pipelines, and agent orchestration.
